DHL or No DHL

From the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

"Also on Wednesday, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown called on McCain to send his campaign manager, Rick Davis, to Germany to lobby Deutsche Post World Net to keep operating its DHL Express air hub in Wilmington. Davis was a lobbyist who helped Deutsche Post overcome objections in Congress in 2003, when the company was acquiring Airborne Express and its Wilmington airport, as The Plain Dealer reported...And McCain, then the chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, fought back proposed legislative language in a defense spending bill that would have made the deal less attractive -- language favored by lawmakers and DHL competitors that wanted to keep the foreign firm out of the air express business in this country."

The end result here is that because of the wheeling and dealing that McShame and his campaign manager did to help this overseas company take over DHL, the town of Wilmington, Ohio will now lose over 8000 jobs.

McShame is speaking in Wilmington today and I'm sure the shit is going to hit the man. Can't wait for the youtube video of this little gem of a campaign stop. The best part is that the McShame staff was clueless about the job losses and McShame's personal role in the losses when they scheduled the appearance. Now it's too late to cancel it. Oh, Magoo, you've done it again. Let's just go ahead and add 8000+ votes for Obama in Ohio.
