Welfare Rats II

You already know my take on corporate welfare. Let me copy and paste the last paragraph of my blog regarding the Bear Stearns bailout last April:

Yep, these folks are truly needy and they most certainly deserve our hard earned taxpayer dollars. If the Duh (again, short for W., for those of you new to this blog) years have taught us nothing else, it is that the 1% are more important than the rest of us and when they screw up they still deserve to be rewarded. As for the rest of us, well, apparently we're on our own.

Keep in mind, this was my take concerning a $30 billion bailout where the CEO had cashed in stocks to the tune of $10.3 million and the president $9.76 million just months before the collapse.

Imagine how I feel about yet another bailout, at the tax payers expense, this time at a cost of $700 billion. I know, I know...I hear you. The sky is falling. If we don't bail out the scum bag mortgage industry then it will lead to a total collapse of the economy...capitalism will fail. Gasp!

Let me fill you in on a dirty little secret. Capitalism isn't all it's cracked up to be. Without regulation, capitalism is just the most vile, despicable, corrupt profiteers on the planet cashing in without restraint, taking advantage of every decent human being on the planet, without remorse.

And the Duh Administration's answer to this attack on the very foundation of American life? Reward the incompetent, greedy bastards with enough money to invade their very own sovereign nation under false pretenses, if they so choose. Not only that, Duh proposes that these people, the same people who got us into this mess, be blessed with legal immunity and zero oversight. Yeah, you heard me right. He wants to give them $700 billion of American tax payer money, to do with as they please, with no political or judicial recourse by the American people. Are you fucking kidding me?

And of course, he'll top it off with the media strong arm tactics to try to push this joke through without any debate or meaningful negotiation, much like they did with the Patriot Act. It's one last gift to the 1% before the jackass leaves office.

Let's recap. The greedy, incompetent, scumbag capitalists who created this mess will be rewarded with a $700 billion windfall, while all of the regular joe American citizens who fell for these tactics will be left without a home.

Have you had enough of Republi-CON "leadership" or would you like some more?

amen, husband. and while all this crap was going on I was trying to help make sure that we could get people replacement food stamps cause the power went out and they lost the little food they can buy with the food stamps they get each month. Pathetic we can give a handout to filthy rich CEOs in the blink of an eye but can't take care of each other.
