Quick Round Up

OK. You've waited patiently. Politics. How about a quick round up?

The Trophy VP insulted her base over the weekend when she chided a group of supporters, by saying something along the lines of, for those of you protesting, I hope that you recognize the veterans who have made your freedom of speech possible. Not only did she waste a perfectly good zinger, but she wasted it on her own supporters who were simply trying to communicate to her that they were unable to hear her. And not to nitpick, but I think it was the founding fathers who protesters need to thank for making freedom of speech legal (for now). Sure, the veterans of foreign wars certainly fought for America but my guess is that freedom of speech was at the back of the line regarding things they were fighting for.

Speaking of the Trophy VP, the Troopergate verdict came in last Friday. Despite her best efforts to put lipstick on a pig, the truth is, she was found guilty of ethics violations for abuse of power, re: attempting to use the power of the governor's office to get her ex-brother-in-law kicked off of the police force. Republican through and through. And no matter how the republicans try to spin it, ethics violations are not optional in the state of Alaska.

William Ayers! William Ayers? You mean that guy who did bad things while protesting Vietnam when Obama was 8 years old? That guy that shares a "neighborhood" with Obama? That guy who was on a "republican" appointed committee with Obama? Yeah! That's the guy. Because he was a domestic terrorist when Obama was 8 years old and because Obama lives in the same neighborhood as him, and because they were on the same committee, it must mean that Obama is a terrorist or at least a terrorist supporter. Right?

Right! Absolutely. I'm in full agreement, as long as Palin is willing to abide by the same rules. See, her husband (the First Dude) was (is?) a member of a domestic terrorist group bent on the secession of Alaska from the United States. This is a seccessionist group that Palin was so supportive of, that she went to their conferences and even recorded a video address (as governor) for their 2008 meeting. That's right, a group of domestic terrorists who hate America so much that they're sole purpose is to cease being a part of America, and here we have the republican VP candidate, ass deep, in their terrorist movement. America first? No, America not at all. They hate America so much that they don't even want to be a part of America. Where is the media outrage? Where is the fictional liberal media when you need them?

Bush! Shut! Up! Every time you open your pie hole, the stock market tanks even further. Nice rebound on Monday, now Shut! The! Fuck! Up! Already!

That's all I have time for right now. Way too much to cover in too short of a time.

Tomorrow is the final debate. Pop the popcorn and uncork the wine. McShame has no choice but to go "all in". Magoo + all in = great comedy.

Public service announcement, my friends. If you are unfortunate enough to have "my friends" on your drinking and/or bingo card, do your self a favor and call for a "mercy rule" after 10 occurrences. Otherwise, you'll need to call off work on Thursday.
