Seig Heil Part 3

Sorry, blame my wife. She mentioned this morning that she thinks I get too caught up in reading and believing things written from the liberal point of view. She warned that she fell victim to this in 2004 and it led her to believe that John Kerry had a much better command on voters than the final tally indicated.

Point taken, but I do make a conscious effort to read both sides of the coin as well as listen to right wing propaganda radio from time to time, just to stay grounded. And if I can just take a moment to discuss elections, I told my wife over the weekend that this was the first time since 1992 that I really felt like the democrats were definitely going to win. 2000 and 2004 I wanted them to win, hoped that they would win, was enthusiastic that they would win, but this year is the first time in 16 years where I FEEL that they will win.

OK, back to blaming my wife. I tuned back in to Limbaugh a short while ago and here is what I learned.

The right wing nut jobs who are calling for the murder of Obama at these McCain/Palin rallies are actually "media plants" and "Obama supporter plants". You see, the "drive by media" (whatever that means) have to plant these people in order to create a story. So even though not 90 minutes ago, he was supporting and encouraging this activity, now it is a left wing liberal media conspiracy. Make up your mind, Rush. This is why I prefer my talk radio to be drug free.

He then took a call from a woman who attended a rally yesterday in Pennsylvania. He asked her if there were a ton of protesters outside the rally. She said, no, there were 4 or 5 people protesting. You want to know why, Rush? Because democrats aren't a bunch of crazy loons who march around outside of places where they aren't welcome, hoping to cause a scene and stir up trouble. Um...unless they are "plants", ahem.

He went on to falsely claim that McCain's crowds are getting bigger while Obama's crowds are getting smaller. Yeah, that statement is grounded in reality. Need I remind you that Bruce Springsteen performed at an Obama rally in Columbus last weekend while a few days prior, the Bexley High School Marching Band cancelled a performance at a McCain rally?

I turned off the radio thinking that even his dittohead callers must be "plants".

ok I am NOT taking blame for that! I did NOT say go listen to far right whack jobs. I said just try to maintain some objectivity! Don't punish yourself, man! It's not worth it!
